I’ve always loved illustration.  I guess that must be true of anyone who likes to draw and is book obsessed. It’s fascinating the way different people interpret the same stories.   So 50 Watts, a fantastic collection of illustrations, is one of my favorite websites.

Several times a week the site is updated with illustrations from all over the world. Many of them are from books, but there are fascinating collections of advertisements and posters too.  Some are quite old, others are brand new, and it can be a very interesting exercise to think about the history and current events that might have inspired a set of work.

This drawing of cats is my favorite from the latest set posted to 50 Watts, a large collection of clever illustrations from a modern Italian illustrator named Franco Matticchio.
